THINKER’S KEY: reverse method
STANDARDS: precision / accuracy / fairness / consistency
FIQH AWLAWIYAT / MAQASID: ________
CORT: OPV/ PMI
BARRIERS: sociocentrism

2) Rejab: Entrance into university must be merit based, not gender based.

THINKER’S KEY: what if / combination
CORT: C&S/PMI
FIQH AWLAWIYAT/MAQASID: _______

Tuesday 15 November 2016

BONO CORT 1

BONO CORT 1

PMI   =  PLUS, MINUS, INTERESTING
CAF  = CONSIDER ALL FACTORS
OPV  = OTHER PEOPLE’S VIEWS
C&S  =  CONSEQUENCES AND SEQUELS
AGO =  AIMS, GOALS, OBJECTIVES
APC  = ALTERNATIVES, POSSIBILITIES, CHOICES
FIP    = FIRST IMPORTANT PRIORITIES

SHOULD I ORGANIZE A "TOUCH A DOG" CAMPAIGN?

do PMI
a)why do you like  b)why don’t you like   c)what does it tell you about the culture

a)open people’s minds
b)many will attack me
c)malaysian muslims are ultra sensitive with dog issue but ok with artists’ overlimits

do CAF = Have I considered how to minimize provocation?

do OPV = Have I considered the views of mufti selangor and mufti perlis where both of them have disagreements? Have I considered the views of politicians? Views of marketing gurus? Views of journalists? Views of Mazhab Shafi’e and other mazhabs?

do FIP = Have I considered the maqasid / fiqh awlawiyat?

do C&S = Have I considered short-term (1-2 years), medium term (3-5 years), long term (over 5 years) consequences?

do AGO = I have asked for financial helps to buy dogs and rent a venue in order to organize a touch a dog campaign

AIM (what the OBJECTIVES need to achieve) = organize touch a dog campaign
GOAL (ultimate/final destination) = open people’s minds
OBJECTIVES (recognisable points of achievement along the way) = ask for financial helps, buy dogs, rent a venue

do APC = Have I considered changing the name of the campaign?

THINKER’S KEYS

1) The REVERSE method
We are always directed to one way thinking, one direction.
e.g. America is a civilized country.
God exists.

We REVERSE this direction by thinking:
America is NOT a civilized country.
God does NOT exist!

2) The WHAT IF method
We prefer to think in a comfort zone.
e.g. I am a bumiputra in Malaysia. Therefore, I have special privileges.

We ask WHAT IF: WHAT IF ….special privileges shall be taken away after 10 years from now?

3) The DISADVANTAGES method
We always highlight the defects of a thing but do not seek to make improvements.
e.g. We should discourage the culture of polygamy.

We list the disadvantages AND the improvements

disadvantages:  a) men are incapable of fairness
b) male income is insufficient
c) women feel hard to accept

improvements:  a) change the educational system to emphasize on development of quality men
b) increase the number of male student in universities
c) ban movies, cartoons like cinderalla, snow white which emphasis one man-one woman love stories. Rather create cartoons, movies that praise one man-many women love stories.

4)The COMBINATION (qiyas/analogy) method
When we have a problem, we focus only on the specific problem.
e.g. divorce rates have reached an extremely high level.

COMBINE the issue of the growing divorce rates with the issue of the growing number of graduates to find out more why divorce rates have increased so much.

why divorce rates grow: a) couples are too busy working, hence breakdown of communication
b) couples rush into marriage

why the number of graduates grow: a) online open universities make learning far more flexible.
b)  overflow of graduate candidates in the market. A degree becomes a necessity of basic survival nowadays.

When we have combined and make comparison between these 2 issues, we discover new reasons for the rise of divorce rates:

A) too many ONLINE affairs. Affairs become more FLEXIBLE!
B) the MARKET has OVERFLOW of female CANDIDATES. Early marriage becomes a NECESSITY nowadays.

5) The B A R method
B = B-igger
A = A - dd
R = R - eplace

Sometimes we are stuck in creativity.
e.g. storage in my car is small.

Bigger = throw away back seats to make storage BIGGER.
Add = ADD something on the roof of the car to increase storage space
Replace = REPLACE  handles with hangers

FALLACIES

FALLACIES OF RELEVANCE

FALLACIES: ERRORS IN REASONING

1) Personal Attack

Zainab: Dog is najis but we can still touch it as we touch our
najis.

Rejab: Haram to touch a dog. You are not an ustaz. You must
always listen to what an ustaz says.

sweet talker. No one really loves and respects me. Don't ask such
a question to break my heart.

5) Begging the Question

Zainab: Why have you failed in your exam?

Rejab: Because I have not passed it.

FALLACIES OF INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE

1) Inappropriate Appeal to Authority

Einsten says that this hadith is authentic.

2) Appeal to Ignorance

Bring four witnesses to prove that you have not committed zina.

3) False Alternative

Choose either you are my enemy or my lover.

4) Questionable Cause

The reason why you failed in your marriage is because you did not get blessings from your parents.

5) Weak Analogy

Pigs are like dogs. Both are haram to be eaten.

BARRIERS TO CRITICAL THINKING

1) Egocentrism (SIT & SSB)

a) self-interested thinking

a) Group Bias
Arabs are always more religious than  other races because Arabic is their mother tongue.

b)Conformism
Smoking is good because all my friends smoke!

3) Stereotyping
Since IIUM is an ISLAMIC university, all IIUM students listen to nasyeeds only and they have no gf and bf. Haram!

4) Wishful Thinking
A man, "I wish I became pregnant."
A woman, "I hope I become pregnant."

5)Scapegoating
An unfaithful husband says to his wife, "Darling, all my extramarital affairs are not my fault. The iblis forced me to do it! If iblis did not exist, I would remain faithful to you forever."

2) tolerate minor harm in order to avoid major harm

3) give up minor benefit in order to gain major benefit

4) give up minor benefit in order to avoid major harm

ISSUES
a) Should I sacrifice my life to save my family?

b) Should I keep my savings rather than invest in my education?

c) Should I go watch a movie and leave my injured dog to die?

d) Should I lie because if I don't do so, my marriage shall be torn apart!

STANDARDS OF CRITICAL THINKING

1) CLARITY

Islam is a weltanschauung. This is why it is true.

2) PRECISION - 3) ACCURACY

a)Malaysia achieved independence on August.

b)Malaysia achieved independence on August 1957.

c)Malaysia achieved independence on 31st August 1957.

d)Malaysia achieved idependence on 31st August 1960.

d is inaccurate.

Our university is a great university in view of the fact that its lecturers are all so charming!

5) CONSISTENCY

John is a Christian who does not believe in the existence of Jesus,

6) COMPLETENESS/SUFFICIENCY-- NECESSARY

The only condition to become a Muslim is that you believe in God.

(It is a necessary condition to believe in God but it alone is not sufficient to become a Muslim)

ARGUMENTS = PREMISE + CONCLUSION

1) WHAT IS AN ARGUMENT?

A) Chee Kuan is a good muslim.
B) Chee Kuan is a good muslim because he observes his solat.

(A) is not an ARGUMENT because it does not tell you WHY Chee Kuan is good Muslim.

(B) is an ARGUMENT because it tells you WHY (PREMISE) and state the CONCLUSION.
Conclusion: Chee Kuan is a good muslim.
Premise: He observes his solat.

2) HOW DO YOU IDENTIFY CONCLUSION & PREMISE?

A)by detecting the indicators: premise indicator or conclusion indicator. Notice that the conclusion is in red colour and premise in blue below:

DAKWAH TRAINING-PAHANG WITH XIFU

SOALAN 1

RESPONS PESERTA:

1) Aizudin: Harta
2) Arif: Kesenangan
3) Ismail: Fitnah Dajjal
4) Yussuf: Terlindung dari kebenaran ajaran Islam
5) Azrul: tipudaya
6) Azim: media sosial
7) Zuraidi: jahil
8) najib: harta
9) nasrul: pangkat
10) hairul: wanita
11) Majeed: Freemasonry

SOALAN 2

Senario A
Rejab cari duit haram sebagai  wasilah untuk capai objektif iaitu berzina dgn wanita idamannya.

duit: "fitnah wasilah"
wanita: "fitnah objektif"

Senario B
Awang guna pistol utk rompak duit demi utk dptkan wanita idamannya.

pistol: fitnah wasilah
duit: fitnah objektif/wasilah
wanita: fitnah objektif

Susun kesemua 11 fitnah di atas kpd dua kategori yg mungkin overlap:

a) fitnah wasilah
b) fitnah objektif

RESPONS PESERTA
Arif: 2,4,7 = fitnah objektif

SOALAN 3

RESPONS PESERTA

Bedhead:
Justin guna sosial media utk aibkan Oliver.

SOALAN 4

JIKA SOCIAL MEDIA BLH JADI WASILAH/OBJEKTIF,  BAGAIMANA DGN KANUN HUDUD?

RESPONS

Arif: Kanun Hudud adalah wasilah.

SOALAN 5

SOALAN 6

Kita nilai balik respons2 kpd SOALAN 1:

Fitnah2 Paling Besar Terhadap Umat Dunia:

1) Aizudin: Harta
2) Arif: Kesenangan
3) Ismail: Fitnah Dajjal
4) Yussuf: Terlindung dari kebenaran ajaran Islam
5) Azrul: tipudaya
6) Azim: media sosial
7) Zuraidi: jahil
8) najib: harta
9) nasrul: pangkat
10) hairul: wanita
11) Majeed: Freemasonry

Cuba amalkan teknik THINK OF THE UNTHINKABLE or UNSANGKARABLE iaitu: fikir dalam, membaca apa yang tidak di tulis, melihat apa yang tidak dizahirkan, READ BETWEEN THE LINES, uncover the unconscious matrix.

Mindset kita di control oleh MATRIX. Kita rasa kita bebas berfikir tetapi sebenarnya kita bebas hanya WITHIN a MATRIX.

Contohnya saya telah bawa semua step by step sehingga step 5 dimana akhirnya Kanun Hudud mungkin menjadi fitnah.

RESPONS PESERTA

HJ ZURAIDI: Apa definasi fitnah?

DEFINASI FITNAH
Sesuatu yg meletakkan seseorang dlm cabaran, ujian yg expose dia kemungkinan BESAR kpd mudarat, bahaya. E.g. ulama kata zaman dajjal adalah fitnah maksudnya zaman dajjal meletakkan seseorang kpd cabaran yg expose dia kemungkinan besar kpd mudarat.

BEDHEAAAD: 1. Kenapa lelaki bukan fitnah paling besar ? kenapa perempuan ? apa salah perempuan ? dajjal lelaki kan !!

2. Kenapa bukan parti politik dan parti islam like ISIS atau SYIAH IRAN ? kenapa freemason?

e.g. Rejab nak cari duit. Mengapa Rejab perlu duit? Kerana nak beli pistol.

Kita tanya pula MENGAPA REJAB PERLU PISTOL.

Responsnya kerana nak bunuh Awang. Pistol sekarang berubah menjadi fitnah wasilah. Bunuh Awang menjadi fitnah objektif. Sekarang tanya lagi MENGAPA PERLU BUNUH AWANG?
